About
I am a Finnish Hume and Berkeley scholar who is also working on contemporary metaphysics.
I did my dissertation on Hume and scepticism against the senses (primarily in the first Enquiry) at the University of Tampere, Finland. In Finland, dissertations are published books. So my dissertation was published by Tampere University Press. You can download it here: http://acta.uta.fi/haekokoversio.php?id=11021.
My post-doc research project was originally Locke's, Berkeley's and Hume's metaphysics of body in relation to some issues in contemporary metaphysics. It has evolved into Hume's metaphysics in general, Berkeley's ontology of ideas, and tropes and persistence in contemporary metaphysics. So at the moment, I am very much working on metaphysics, early modern and contemporary.
When I was writing my dissertation, I did some work on the history of scepticism, ancient, in particular.
I am also interested in the history of political thought and philosophy of team sports. Recently I published two articles on the social ontology of team sports in Finnish.
In 2008-9, I was a Visiting Fellow to the Department of Philosophy at Yale.
